These were the 3 videos we watched-
1.
Tamatea Arikinui
2.
Te Iti Kahurangi
3.
Te Puku o Te Ika
Bonus Activity-
My favorite performance was Te Puku o Te Ik one. They took my breath away with the first sentence. They all had good voices. It was just like watching a choir, exept in Maori. Their notes were precisely on-key and they looked so focused. My second favorite performance was Te Iti Kahurangi. They too sounded like a choir, but they were too loud, like they were shouting more than singing. At the beginning, they all walked together at the exact time. The reason why it isn't first is because they were too loud.
My least favorite out of the 3 was the Tamatea Arikinui performance. Their swaying or swings were just a split second off. They kind of had different timings. Some of the girls took longer to swing their Poi around. They are talented, I'll give them that, but not world class talented.
Final standings-
1st - Te Puku o Te Ika
2nd - Te iti Kahurangi
3rd - Tamatea Arikinui

Kia Ora Lauren,
ReplyDeleteWow, you have made a great start to the Summer Learning Journey! My name is Hazel, and I am the Cluster Manager in Uru Manuka. I will be reading your blog posts whilst Jade is on holiday for Christmas.
What a great idea to include the links to the videos. That way, anyone who isn't doing the Summer Learning Journey can still understand what your post is about.
I like that you included the pictures of the medals!
I can tell that you put a lot of thought into your answers. Have you ever performed in front of a crowd? What do you think would be the hardest part of performing? Do you think you would prefer to perform by yourself, or as part of a group?
Meri Kirihimete,
Hazel :)
