The second story for today talks about Women not being allowed to vote. In New Zealand, about 200 hundred years ago, only men were allowed to vote. Vote for what you ask? Vote for everything, who will be president, in favour or against a sedition etc. Basically, being allowed to have a say in their opinion. It wasn't until the late 1800s, that a woman named Kelly Sheppard lead a suffragist moment in New Zealand, calling for change. Our second task for today is to write down what we think about if women should or shouldn't have the privileged to vote. Then backup our reasons.
Activity 2-
In my opinion, women should have the privilege to do what they want. They are a human, just like males. Males may think that stay home women do nothing, just wait till the day is over, but they are wrong. Females clean the house, go shopping and make the garden and/or house look pretty. They don't just go clothes shopping or talk to their friends over a cup of yea. While it is true that a girl talks more words then a male, it shows that girls are not fearless. They have a voice and stick to it. If they want change, they fight for it.
Talking lots doesn't just show how open girls are, but also what an amazing life they have. So much to talk about. All females should have a free life, not be a working slave. Girls are more of a target for kidnapping than boys. While kidnapping itself is not right, girls being the target is even more wrong. Girls are just like males. We are both human. They shouldn't be a target just because of their gender,
Overall, women should have the right to do what they want. They are human, and have their rights, just like males. Females shouldn't be targeted, if your gonna target girls, why don't you target boys as well? We all deserve our own freedom in our life.
Kia Ora Lauren,
ReplyDeleteWow, I can tell you've put a lot of thought into your answer.
Kate Sheppard was a very brave woman. Did you know that New Zealand was the first country in the world to give women the right to vote?
I agree that men and women should be treated equally and both have the right to vote. It doesn't seem fair that in some places they are not.
I read your paragraph about women's roles. Sometimes women do choose stay at home to look after the home, but women can also do the same jobs as men; they can be doctors, police officers, lawyers, ANYTHING! What do you want to be when you're older?
