Summer Learning Journey:Day 3, Bonus Activity
Over the past few years, a number of schools have changed the way that they teach. Instead of one teacher working in one classroom with one group of students, some schools have built huge classrooms where many teachers work together to teach a big group of students. This is called a ‘Modern Learning Environment’. Our bonus activity for today is to imagine what we were a teacher designing our classroom. We need to design it using Google Drawings.
Bonus Activity-
I choose this design, because it reminded me of my classroom in 2017. I choose the colour of the floor to be blue, because blue is a unisex colour. If there aren't enough chair for all the kids, some can work on the floor. This class room can hold up to 25 kids, 1 teacher and 2 techer aids.

It's awesome to be back to your blog and see the great amount of work you've done yesterday evening.
I really like the way you made your floor plan with google drawing, it's colourful and very catchy! First of all, as you have been in schools that practice teaching in modern learning environment, do you like the 'Modern Learning Environment' system that we have today? If yes, what do you like about it?
I like modern learning environment because the classroom becomes very colourful with all different kinds of desks with different heights and shapes. The classroom becomes suitable for everyone to be comfortable and suit their learning style. Students who prefer to work alone and gets things done quickly by working quietly can work on individual desks or grouped together to work at the high desk. Students who prefer to work together and constantly share ideas while learning, can be place at the big table and they can all work together as long as they are actually working - not chatting 24/7!
You did an awesome job supporting your presentation and ideas by giving an explanation & justification. I enjoyed your presentation and I look forward to read and comment on more of your blogs! :)

But I would just like to say, you did great work on this activity. Your classroom drawing looks nice and neat. I like how you used all sorts of colours and how everything is not so squashed together.

ReplyDeleteIt is awesome to see your floor plan for a classroom. I like that you thought about the logistics of fitting students and how many teachers/teacher aids there is room for.
I also love that you've included a bookcase, do you have a favourite book? I'm currently rereading the Harry Potter series. They are my all time favourite series!
Have you thought about including a space for students to sit to read their book or play a game together? I've always loved the idea of a cozy corner with beanbags, couches and comfy seats.
