Summer Learning Journey:Day 2, Bonus Activity

In the 1960s, sport in New Zealand was dominated by the three R’s – rugby, racing and running. The national rugby team, the All Blacks, had a great run, winning 36 of the 40 games that they played. There was also many Kiwi's that spent their weekends at the local racetrack. In 1960, Peter Snell won a gold medal for winning the 800m race at the Olympic Games in Rome, Italy. He also won two more gold medals for the 800m and 1500m races at the 1964 Olympic Games. Our bonus activity for today is to watch a documentary about Peter Snell. Then create a poster about him, using Canva.

  1. Hi there Lauren

Awesome job on the poster! I like the patterns you've used and well done on including lots of information as well. It's really clear and I like how include your activity description as well so people who aren't part of the Summer Learning Journey understand what is being said here. Well done! Here's something I'm curious to know about Peter Snell, did he have any interests or hobbies besides running?

Awesome job with your posts Lauren, keep it up!
