Welcome to the last week of the Summer Learning Journey. The first activity for today and for this week is about celebrating. In 2000, New Zealand celebrated when Russell Coutts and his sailing team won their second straight America's Cup. People celebrated with their friends and family. Our first task is to write down how we celebrate birthdays, christmas, new years etc.
Activity 1-
1. I would normally hang out with friends and family. Every year, near christmas time, my uncle(and sometimes his wife) come over to New Zealand for a few weeks. They live in Hong Kong.
2. We would go to a nice and fancy restaurant as a family. Sadly, this means that I have to wear a dress and I personally don't wear dresses. It also means that I have to keep quite. Most times, I can be a chatterbox.
3. We play board games together. For New Years and on Christmas, we got to play some board games together as a family. We played 5 Second Rule, Shark Attack and Scramble 360.

Hi there Lauren,
ReplyDeleteJade F here from the Summer Learning Journey. Well done on making it to the final week of the Summer Learning Journey. Let’s make every post count! :)
Awesome job on listing the different ways you celebrate occasions. I really liked the point you made about how you and your family play different board games at New Year’s and Christmas. That’s similar to what my family and I do at Christmas, we have this box of random questions and we go around the room picking a card and trying to answer them; we also play this interactive game on playstation called ‘That’s You’ where you use a device linked to the PS4 and you get set challenges to earn points. It’s so much fun. That’s cool that you go to restaurants for dinners, I do that for occasions with my family too and I gotta say I don’t like dressing up either, I much prefer to wear jeans and a t-shirt than a fancy dress! What would you say would be your favourite restaurant to go to for dinner? Mine is this restaurant called Mexico which of course specialises in mexican food and I go there nearly every week because I LOVE mexican food!
Looking forward to reading more of your blog posts and keep up the good work Lauren!
Bye for now,
Jade F :)
