Summer Learning Journey:Day 1, Part 2

Arguably one of the most famous movie trilogies of all time, The Lord of the Rings, was filmed in New Zealand. All three movies were directed by a New Zealander named Peter Jackson. The first movie was released in 2001, the second in 2002 and the third in 2003. The movies cost an estimated $300 million to produce!  Our second task is to imagine that we had that much money. We have to write down all the things we would buy with is.

Activity 2-
I would use the 20, 20, 60 money rule (a parody of the 10, 10 80 rule). The 10, 10, 80 rule is a money rule that my dad taught me. You save 10% of your money, you give 10% of your money to charity/church etc and you use 80% for everyday living and to spend for yourself. I think 80% is a bit too much. I would save 20% of my money, Give 20% to church and spend 60% on me, my friends/family and my house etc.

Things I would like to buy-

For Me-
- Gymnastics Equipment
- Gymnastics Lessons
- A kitten
- A dream house for my Kitten
- A Massive trampoline for my backyard
- A Professional camera to record videos
- A new laptop
- DIY Slime kit

Friends and Family-
- A meal at a expensive restaurant
- Make up
- Dresses
- A room at a 5-star hotel
- A robot unicorn toy

  1. Hi there Lauren,

That’s a pretty smart rule that your dad has taught you about what to do with money you earn. I think I might even start using that rule! That’s amazing that you want to provide yourself equipment for gymnastics, that really shows how much determination and commitment you have toward achieving your dream of becoming a gymnast. Also if I had that money I would definitely get myself a kitten as well and a maybe puppy too!

Great job on the blog post Lauren, look forward to reading more!
