In Reading, it is now day 5 of the Olympics activities. As usual, there is activity 1, 2 and the bonus activity for extra points.
So for the first one, it is to do with writing. We watched a video of the trailer called Eddie the eagle (which you might have watched) and recount on what it was about.
Here is the video link - Eddie the Eagle Movie trailer
Here is my writing about what it is about-
Have you seen Eddie the Eagle? You know, the movie about the underdog who achieve his dreams. No one believed him but he didn't let that stop him. He wanted to join the Winter Olympics since he was a kid.
Everyone said that he'll never make it but he never accepted it and he let his dreams take off. He believed in himself and never had self doubt. Believing in yourself can take you anywhere. You just need a little push in the right direction and you're off.
He even had a injury in his neck but didn't let that take him down. He managed to recover and continue and keep trying. With his self confidence, he persevered and made it to the Winter Olympics. He went to do skiing and whether he made a medal or not, he still made it to the Olympics!
See, believing in your dream is better that having self doubt. Believe that you can do anything and you can! Don't let anyone anyone say you can't because you can, they don't know the really you!
Activity 2 was worth 4 points as everyday and it is where there was a 13 year old girl called Marjorie Gestring who became the youngest olympian to ever win a medal. Then imagine that you got to interview her and ask 5 questions. This is what I would ask her-
What age did you start spring diving?
Do you enjoy it, is it hard?
Where do you practice?
If you would any other sport, what would it be?
Do you enjoy doing it or are you just good at it?
The last activity was to think of someone who inspires you in your own life and why/how they inspire you.
I knew that I would choose my older brother because he is really smart and can handle lot of jobs/responsibilities and manage to complete all of them to a high stranded. Even though he is really quite, he is class council (in HHS), in the A team in soccer (Winter Sports) and is trusted by all teachers.
I want to be like him when I'm older...
Well done Lauren, you have put in a quality effort into today's activities. When you are presenting all three activities into your blog tomorrow, think about how you can separate your activities better so that is clear where a new activity is beginning. You could use different colours for your titles for example.
