Blind Contour

 For our exercise in art today, we tried blind contour. Blind contour is where you don't look at the paper you're drawing on and stare constantly at your subject matter. You have to draw with one long straight line so you can't take your pen off the paper while you're drawing. The purpose of this practice is to focus on the shapes of an image. The subject matter I chose is the image below. My style for the portfolio will be more anime since I'm focusing on Japanese culture. The girl is wearing a yukata worn at traditional Japanese festivals and the festival she is at is actually Tanabata.

It was really fun to do even if the end result is a complete mess. I think that the left side of the drawing is somewhat alright, but the right side became completely lopsided and there's no proper shape to it.
