The Human Body

Today for English we started off by reading a book for ten minutes. I read a book called '100 Facts On The Human Body' by Miles Kelly. I choose that book because when I grow up I'm thinking of becoming a (sports) doctor. Some interesting facts that I found out were that your skin takes about four weeks to renew your skin (cells) and the old ones often come off when you get wet and dry yourself. Another thing that I found out was that babies grow the most within the first few weeks in the womb. Apparently if they keep growing at that rate for 50 years, they would be bigger than the tallest mountain! At the age of around 18 mouths, babies can learn around 10 new words each day from basic things like hi, bye to things like cat and dog. I can't wait to read more about the book next time as I really enjoyed it.
