Pets!

Everyone loves an animal pal, right? Today I read a book about pets and it was written by Moira Butterfield. The book started off talking about the histories of pets and where they first came from. The most common pets a looooong time back were dogs, apes and snakes. Cats sooner came around and it was believed to originate from some place in North Africa. A fact that I learnt today was that when a cat died in Egypt, all the people in the house would shave off their eyebrows. It sounds pretty weird, right? Another funny thing I learnt was that in like the 17th century, there was a rule for no dogs in the collage room so a person names Lord Byron got past the rules by instead bringing a pet bear. I wouldn't have had the guts to bring such a crazy animal! Can't wait till next time when I get to read the book again.
