For English today we started off with silent reading. I decided to change my book today for a different one. Today I read a book called 'Titanicat' by Marty Crisp and illustrated by Robert Papp. It was about a cat that was in charge of catching all the mice and rats aboard the famous ship, Titanic. Jim was a sailor boy and was put in charge of looking after the cat. He believes that cats bring you luck. Later he found that the cat had a family of it's own with a litter of kittens. During his work, he would take them in a box and leave them inside it. One time when they reached a new detestation to pick up passengers, the cat disappeared. Very quickly, he spotted a cat on the deck with a kitten in her mouth, he realized it was the hip's cat and raced down. The only thing that he knew he could do was grab the last of the kitten and raced to the cat. The final call was made and the ship was leaving the deck. With a swift leap, he managed to clutch the kitten in his hand and jumped to the deck. He looked at the cat and gave the last of the kittens to her. The cat licked the last kitten like nothing happened. For the next two days he had to work hard to earn money to afford a place for himself and the cats to stay. There were news tat day about the Titanic shrinking and he realized that the cat really had brought him luck. I honestly really enjoyed the book and it had amazing illustrations with it. It would have been heart breaking to find that the cat would have died along with the ship but I'm glad that the story didn't end that way.
