Today we had English and once again we started off with silent reading. I went straight to the book I was reading called '100 Facts On The Human Body'. The part that I was reading about today was about the skeleton and muscles. As I've mentioned previously, I want to be a sports doctor so I found that section pretty interesting to read about. Did you know what weightlifters can lift up to 3x their body weight?! I can merely lift up my own body weight with my arms. In total the human body has an average of 206 bones in the body. There's 8 in the skull, 14 in the face, 6 tiny bones in the ears, 1 in the neck (which isn't connected to anything really), 26 in the spine, 25 in the chest including 25 ribs and 1 breastbone, 32 in each arm (from fingers to shoulder) and finally 31 in each arm (toes to hip). All bones and muscles have a medical name which is usually really long. I can't wait till the next time that I can read it.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all the wonderful information and it's fantastic that you have a career in mind already. I liked all the details you included as when people, including myself, read your blog we learn so much. I think the medical names are usually Latin or Greek. Next time you could include a few easy ones.
