Orana Park Thank You Letter

Last week on Monday Year 7 and 8s went to Orana Park Wildlife. It was fully funded by The Warehouse. On Friday we had to make a thank you letter for teaching us about the animals. We were put into groups. I was in 1W (my group name) with my friend, Alyscia. I was looking forward to see the Meerkats the most but we ran out of time to see them. Here are some photos of the Trip.

Here is my writing (Elizabeth was my leaders name) -

Dear Elizabeth

I would like to thank you for teaching us about the animals at Orana Park Wildlife. We will use that knowledge to help save the animals in the future.

Something that I enjoyed was seeing the Gorillas. They had funny behavior and were are lot like humans in some ways.  Another thing that I enjoyed was seeing the Tasmanian Devils. They were quite cute in a way that I can’t really describe. They looked half dog and half rat. I can’t believe that something that small could have such a powerful bite! The last thing that I enjoyed was that it was a guided tour that we could learn some facts about them and why they are acting that way etc.

I learn that Gorilla don’t like it if you are standing because it makes it look like you are taller then them and they get scared. Something else that I learnt was that each zoo in New Zealand have an animal that no other zoo in New Zealand can have. It’s because then Orana park will be attractive because of the Gorillas and Auckland Zoo because of the Elephants and so on. A fun fact that I learnt was that Kiwis can lay up to 100 eggs in their lifetime but only 5 (1 out of 20) will survive up to adulthood.

Overall thank you for having us and I’m sure to come back soon.

Yours Sincerely, Lauren
