Buy A Cat

We have been learning about persuasive writing and we had to create a story about trying to get Miss McLeod to buy a cat or dog. I want her to get a cat because I have one and I love them. Oh yeah,  she isn't really buying a pet. But she might if it is so persuasive enough! So here is my writing and I hope that you want to buy a cat after you read this!

My writing-

The Purrfect Companion

Did you know that cats reduce the chances of getting a heart attack by around about 30%? Because of that reason, Miss McLeod, I think that you should get a kitten or a cat as a pet. But wait, there's more, cats will clean up after themselves, they will learn their way around your area and they can sense if there is a storm coming! It's the purrfect pet for you!

One reason why is because cats will clean up after themselves. Which will mean less work and more relaxing for you. Unlike dogs, cats will bury their mess underground and cover it up with bark or soil. All you need to do as a loving owner, is to open the door for them, or instal a cat door. Dogs leave a mess in the open, which stinks, but cats just dig underground and cover it up like burying a time capsule. Cats learn to do that when they are just a kitten!

Another benefit of having a cat is that they can learn their way around your area so they will always find their way home. This also means that it knows where it is allowed and not allowed to go. They will want to protect your property from other cats. I think that it is a great idea to let your cat roam around your area because the more chance it gets lost, it can find it's way back home. In other words, if it gets kidnapped, once it escapes, it will sniff the air for your scent to find you!

A surprising fact is that a cat can sense if there is a storm coming. It has different warnings to alert you that it might rain. It could stay inside for a long time, keep going in and out (that is what my cat does), meow or even hide somewhere inside or outside. This also means that you have time to take all your clothes down from the clothesline. It also means that when you are on holiday and there might be a thunder storm coming, your cat will take shelter and he/she will be alright. So, there is no need to worry about your cute fluffy friend.

Overall, I think that you should get a kitten because they clean their own mess, they will quickly learn their way around the area and they can sense a storm coming. But it gets better yet! Turn on your laptop and open up Trade Me because a Tabby could be at the price of, well, nothing (at least my cat was free besides the cost of traveling)! I guarantee that you will be best friends furrever!
