Advertisment Doc

We are learning about persuasive so we watched a group of advertisements of youtube and we had to say what we think about it, was it effective and things like that. So here is my work-

We are learning to identify what advertisements are trying to persuade the watcher to do.
Watch these advertisements. While you are watching, think- what is the purpose of it?
Then answer the following questions.

What is the product advertised?
Coke-a-cola
What was the advert trying to persuade you to do?
To buy coke.
Why do you think the creator of the advertisement chose to use polar beers?
Because they live in cold places and coke is quite cold.
What was the final piece of persuasion the creator used in the advertisement?
The coke sign was ‘Open Happiness’.
Was the advertisement effective? How?
It was quite effective because it was funny and cute. After watching this, I was tempted to get a can of coke!
Was this advert serious, humorous, thought provoking or innovative?
(It could be more than one).
I would say humorous and thought provoking. That is because it was funny with the polar bear snow statue and the sight wasn’t complete until the coke was in it. It made me think that I want to start drinking it.

What was the advert trying to persuade you to do?
It was trying to get you to quit smoking before it’s too late.
Why do you think the creator of the advertisement showed Terrie at different ages?
To show how smoking affected her life when she was doing it for a long time.
What were the persuasive phrases that the advert used?
Terrie was one of them. To the overall death rate. You can quit
What were the facts that backed up these statements?
It showed pictures of Terrie and showed how it affected her life.
Was the advertisement effective? How?
It was quite effective because it was saying that you don’t want to end up like her.
Was this advert serious, humorous, thought provoking or innovative?
(It could be more than one).
Serious and thought provoking. It was those because it was really saying that it is dangerous and it made you think Well, I don’t want to end up like her.

Homeless animals.
What was the advert trying to persuade you to do?
To buy a homeless or ill animal and take care of it.
Why do you think the creator of the advertisement used the song that was playing in the background?
Because it wanted you to buy a animal home tonight before it sees the light which means, death.
What persuasive phrase did the advertisement use to capture your attention?
Every hour a animal is abused, beaten up…
That is because it made me think of all the homeless animals. I also love animals and want the best for their life.
Why do you think the advertisement uses unhappy looking animals? How is this effective?
Because they don’t have a home and they are lonely. They need you!
Was the advertisement effective? How?
Quite effective because it was sad and I’m a animals lover so it makes me want to buy one when I’m older.

Serious because an animal dying is not funny.

Food into chips.
What was the advert trying to persuade you to do?
To enter your idea of a chip flavored food to their website.
Why do you think the creator of the advertisement used the song for the speaking and had the food singing it?
Because it was saying that the food is good on itself but it would be better as a chip flavor. Like when the burger was singing it, it was saying that it would be nice to have a burger flavoured chip.
What persuasive phrase did the advertisement use to reassure you about the classic flavours?
B.B.Q won’t go away. ( I don’t even like bbq but it's the only one I remember.)
What is the incentive to create your own chip flavour?
When the ice cream fell on the bench and it said, “I really need the money!” it was funny.
Was the advertisement effective? How?
Kind of because it was funny and I like funny things. I made be watch it over and over again.
Was this advert serious, humorous, thought provoking or innovative?

Humorous because the food talking was a funny idea and I enjoyed it. 5 * (5 stars!).

What was the advert trying to persuade you to do?
To get you to buy a Evian drink.
Why do you think the creator of the advertisement used that particular song in the advert?
It was to hard to listen
  1. Because it was too crowded and it was hard to focus on it. Even when I was on a different tab and the music was playing.
  2. The song was going too fast and I couldn’t understand the words.
What persuasive phrase did the advertisement use to at the end?
I thought about it in the video and I was right, live young. That is because they were looking at themselves as a young age.
Was the advertisement effective? How?
It was funny but they forgot all about the main idea or the ad. It only made me laugh but it was showing nothing about to buy the drink until the end.

Humorous. That is because the babies were cute and funny when they were dancing.
