The layout of the bird and the branches in the background went well I think, although since I used a brown too dark the first time, I didn't end up printing the darkest colour last. Overall it was an okay outcome.

Art Lino Cutting
In Art we've been working on a lino cutting project. A lino cutting is basically carving out lines and then inking it - the term is printing - and then repeating to cut out the next part and printing it again until you've got all your colours done. You should print the lightest colour first and print the darkest last so it's on top of everything. Our theme were birds, so I chose a tieke bird. We did a three colour reduction print, so we had used three colours plus the white. The three colours I used were red, black and a brown colour. I printed a colour which I though would be brown, but once it dried up I thought it was too dark, especially if I were to try print black over it. I wouldn't be able to have seen the black. So I used that colour as the black and printed a lighter brown on top. Here is my final result-
