Commitment

This term (term 4) we are focusing on commitment. The question is... what does commitment mean to me? Well for starters commitment means to start or to be apart of something, and stick to it. A good example of showing this is class is by completing your work. You start writing a story for writing, then you continue to write until you reach the end. There's no point in starting something and just leaving it hanging about with finishing. Especially when it is approaching end of term, or more importantly, end of year. You wouldn't to start off the school or work term with unfinished work left from last term. You'd end up getting behind on your work because while everyone else is already starting the next/new task, you'll still be finishing an old task then you'll have to also complete the new set task after that. It's really important to tie up any loose ends with your work or tasks. Put it this way: how would you feel if you were to go to a fast food restaurant and order your meal, but you never get it in the end because the staff just felt a lack of commitment and never bothered to finish it. You would want that to happen would you? That is why commitment, or commitment to something, is really important to me. My brother (who shall remain nameless) has a habit of not being committed to his piano. He really loves to play it and spends a great majority of his time working on pieces. From my bedroom, that is right next to his, I can hear him play these advance pieces. I sounds nice most of the time, but at night time when I get ready for bed, it drives me insane to constantly hear him play very loudly. Anyway, he normally tends to only learn like 5-10 seconds of a piece rather than the whole thing. Like honestly, he has probably only ever finished one full piece, Fur Elise. That was probably one of his first pieces that he learnt. He will be able to play the intros of popular meme music (which he likes to play) but never the full piece. He knows 10 seconds of pieces like Dance Of The Little Swans (swan lake), the Wii music, silent whispers (meme), Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker) and a whole lot more. Overall, commitment is a really important value that means a lot if you look at the big picture. I personally try my best to show commitment as much as I can and the outcome is definitely worth it.
