Skellig

In English we read Skellig then after that we watched the movie to compare the two. Here are some differences between the book and the movie that we found

Why have the scene with the moving record player etc?
This might have been to show that Skellig was something extraordinary and isn't a human.
Why did they have Michael’s dad burn down the garage compared to it being pulled down?
It gave the scene a dramatic feel because Michael was really desperate to keep his dad away from the shed but his dad was determined to get rid of it.
What’s the significance of Michael’s hand getting better after their first ‘flight’?
Because it gave him the idea that Skellig could heal his younger sister like he had to himself.
Why do you think they had it that Grace died?
It would have mostly been because of age since she seemed really old already to the audience and she would have also been sick of some kind because she was in the hospital.
Why do you think they had the conflict between Leaky and Michael more than in the book?
Because looking after Skellig was a really big thing for Micheal and keeping him safe was his first priority. Also it seemed that Leaky knew how to use a gun.
