Waiting For Callback

Today for English we started off with silent reading. I read a book I got from the school library called 'Waiting For Callback' by Perdita and Honor Cargill. The story's main protagonist is a 15 year old girl called Elektra James who wants to take her hobby of acting further. She's been doing an after school acting program since she was young. She has been through other activities since a young age such as climbing and violin lessons, but acting was the only one she stuck to. I finished reading chapter 1 yesterday and from what I could tell was that she was trying to convince her parents to let her take her acting career further. It also seemed like she has a best friend called Moss. I started and finished chapter 2 today. Here were some of the key points that happened in the chapter:

• Some new characters were introduced such as Flissy and Talia, who have an appearance of the jealous and queen bee girls and also Jenny and Maia who appear to be some-what close friends with Moss and Elektra. 
• Elektra managed to get a meeting scheduled with her 'agent' after school.
• She managed to somehow forget her homework for French class and most likely got detention along with Moss [Moss was late to a class one time]
• At Geography class Elektra passed a note to Jenny and Jenny got caught reading it when she was supposed to answer a question. The teacher read it out loud to the class and it was about 'possible Romeos for Elektra to play as Juliet'. Some like like that at least.
• Something that followed the note at Geography was that Maia is like the teachers pet and managed to get the teacher to show a picture of who she wishes her Romeo was, which was a person that passed away but Elektra consider him extremely cute and was putting him on her Romeo list. 

The part where I finished was where Elektra was about to go in for the meeting with her (possible) agent.
