In Social Studies we've been studying Human Rights. The Humans Rights Declaration was signed by the United Nations on the 10th December 1948. Here is a list of the 30 Human Rights simplified:
Human Rights List
- Everyone is free
- Everyone is equal
- Everyone had the right to live in freedom and safety.
- No one has the right to treat you as a slave
- No one has the right to hurt you
- Everyone has the right to be treated equally by the laws of the country.
- The law is the same for all people
- Everyone has the right to go to another country and ask for protection
- Everyone has the right to belong to a country
- Everyone has the right to marry and have a family.
- Everyone has the right to own property and possessions.
- Everyone has the right to practise their own religion
- Everyone has the right to say what they think
- Everyone has the right to take part in meetings
- Everyone has the right to help choose and take part in the government of their country.
- Everyone has the right to develop social skills
- Everyone has the right to work for a fair wage
- Everyone has the right to relax
- Everyone has the right to medical attention
- Everyone has the right to go to school
- Everyone has the right to share in their communities culture
- Everyone must respect the ‘social order’
- Everyone must respect the rights of others
- No one has the right to take away any of the rights in this declaration
